Amber hails from the great state of Minnesota and has called West Seattle home for 15 years. She has a daughter in seventh grade and a son at West Seattle High. She previously served on the PTA at Lafayette Elementary. In her free time, she can be found playing with her kiddos, thinking about global health, reading books and PEOPLE magazine, or playing soccer.
Dave Bodmer, a Seattle native, has a son in 6th grade and has proudly served on the Madison PTSA board for the last 4 years. When he’s not working, he enjoys sports, travel and volunteer work. He is looking forward to supporting the fantastic staff, students and families this year.
Stephanie is excited to be co-treasurer for the Madison PTSA for a second year. She has a daughter in 7th grade at Madison and a son in highschool. Stephanie is a licensed family therapist with years of experience working in local schools. She enjoys hiking, gardening, and school auctions.
Nate has lived in West Seattleite for the last 14 years. Although he was born in Kansas, Nate identifies as a Californian, having moved there two months after entering this world. Nate’s daughter is in 7th grade and his son is at West Seattle High. In his free time Nate enjoys soccer, swimming, cooking and LOUD music.

Merrick is originally from New York, attended college in California and has lived in West Seattle for over 15 years. I have one son at Madison, one at Genesee Hill and one at West Seattle High. I love traveling and a great book. I’m passionate about racial equity and the emotional well-being of all students. I look forward to engaging with the Madison Community this year.
Margaux has been a West Seattleite for the last 15 years. She has a daughter in seventh grade and a son at West Seattle High. Margaux previously served on the PTA at Genesee Hill Elementary as Secretary for the last two years. In her free time, she can be found walking around West Seattle listening to podcasts, spending time with her family and friends or thinking about her next possible travel adventure.
Megan Atchison (Johnson) is the legislative liaison for the Madison PTSA and was formally the membership chair. Megan is passionate about education policy and holds a Masters in Public Administration working for the National Center for Homeless Education. Megan has lived in the Seattle area for 19 years and has 3 kids in high school this coming school year and a 7th grader at Madison. Her goal as the legislative liaison is to ensure the PTSA is informed of potential policies being passed by the school board and city council that impact K12 education as well as advocate for the needs of our students.
Victoria is from Ottawa, Ontario and has called West Seattle home for seven years. She loves writing, reading, and nature. She works as a special education teacher and cares deeply about inclusion, equity, and reading intervention. She has one kid in fourth grade at Genesee Hill and one in eighth grade at Madison, and is happy to help serve the Madison PTSA as a Special Education advocate and chair.
Althea is both an educator and a parent. She worked for both Seattle and Highline Public Schools for two decades as an elementary classroom teacher and is dedicated to the advancement of racial equity in all schools. Althea has proudly served the Madison community as PTSA RET co-chair for two years. This is her fifth and final year as a Madison parent, as she has a 10th grade son at WSHS and an 8th grade daughter here.
